2008 will see the most major revision to the SID fork platform in 10 years, with the launch of the eagerly anticipated All New from-the-ground-up RockShox SID Fork. Now available with 100mm travel as well as 80mm options, the first thing you will notice about the new fork is that the new chassis now utilises 32mm upper tubes (as opposed to the old versions 28mm), making the New SID as stiff as a Reba World Cup! But added stiffness is not the only change you’ll find, as the Team and World Cup models will also feature an All New ‘BlackBox’ Motion Control damper, featuring a titanium spring tube, and offering even better on-the-trail performance. The magnesium lower legs feature Power Bulges for increased durability around the lower bushing area. The Race and Team models Power Bulges are magnesium, whereas the World Cup model sees an upgrade here to Carbon Power Bulges. A short upper tube length and hollow bottom lower leg ensures that SID still remains a true light weight despite its increased rigidity.
