The 2 new Lumiled LEDs generate a phenomenal amount of focused light, powered by a fully waterproof, lightweight, tiny 7.4 V-2300mAH Li-Ion battery that gives the R2 a runtime of 2 hours on high beam or 4 hours on low beam.
Includes a battery life indicator -full, 50%, 20% - within the switch unit, the Flex Tight handlebar bracket and a helmet mount.

Cateye's new ultra powerful R3 utilises 3 state of the art Lumiled LEDs in combination with Cateye's patented Power Opticube lens technology to deliver more than double the brightness of its predecessor

Protected within a waterproof casing, the 4.6Ah Li-Ion battery offers 3 hours runtime on full beam and 6 hours on low beam while Cateye's bulletproof switch unit features a battery life indicator showing full, 50% and 20%, to get you home safely. The R3 includes the Flex Tight bracket for full handlebar compatibility.

Description : The all NEW 4 LED boasts some serious output! This impressive new light offers nearly twice the lumen output of it’s HID predecessor. The 4 high powered LED’s push out 960 lumens on max power! Combine this with over 2 hours of burntime and it’s a winning combination.

The NEW! CNC machined lamp body mounts to the NEW! reinforced nylon handlebar bracket, which fit’s both standard and OS bars with the clever use of removable rubber plugs. The bracket also allows for lateral adjustment of the lamp whilst riding.

The 7.4v Li-ion battery pack is the same as the 2 LED’s ‘Epic’ version - with it’s 4 cells giving 5200mAh. The battery has built in charge, discharge and short circuit protection. The connectors are fully sealed and totally waterproof (IP67). The light has a simple on/off/mode switch on the back. This has a new cycle programme which turns the light on in ‘low’ mode and cycles through to the higher settings. This gives better control of the light in tricky situations when more light is needed quickly.
In tests the 7.4v Li-ion battery wil last for upto 35hrs on low, and 2h 15min* on max, with the intelligent charger returning that in just 6 hours. The PVC case is small enough to fit under most stems, top tube junctions or slip into a hydration pack or jersey pocket. The 4 LED model now utilises ‘thermal throttling’ techniques to increase the longevity of the LEDs and prevent damage to the electrical circuit due to overheating. This works by monitoring the temperature of the Aluminium heat sink and restricting the power when it reaches a critical level, thereby keeping the casing at an acceptable temperature for handling while providing extended battery burn times by reducing the amount of energy lost through heat. As well as the universal handlebar clamp, a NEW! reinforced nylon helmet mount is also included, as well as ample velcro fastenings. This light is perfect for Endurance events, 12/24hr racing and night riding alike. It gives more light than you’ve ever had before with sensible run times and a low system weight. USE: When it goes dark! Really dark!

We are also offering (as with all the lights in the range) an ‘Endurance’ option. This is exactly the same lamp unit and charger, but it comes complete with 2 batteries (both in the custom soft packs) ready to simply plug in and use. Perfect for racers and hard core winter riders alike.

This mounts to the NEW universal handlebar clamp (std and oversize compatible) or the NEW aluminium helmet mount (both items supplied as standard, along with short and long connecting wires - no expensive add on’s to upgrade!)
